Coaching is an exclusive, professional service engaged by corporates to nurture their top talent for management positions. We're excited to offer this to youth.
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as:
“partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential.”
The process of coaching unlocks untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.
All of us have goals that we want to achieve, challenges that we strive to overcome, and there'll be times when we feel stuck.
Partnering with a coach can change our lives, and set us on a path towards greater fulfilment and success.
Coaching is like 1-on-1 tuition, but for life skills.
Except that learning and growth are achieved through self-discovery, and not by teaching tips. When youths discover themselves and their strengths, it leads to greater self-confidence and self-motivation.
MOE emphasises a holistic education, where youths need both academic and non-academic skills to succeed.
For parents - We know you want the very best for your child. If you value hiring a tutor for your child’s studies, consider a coach to boost his/her determination, resourcefulness and resilience. This can also help your child in his/her studies. More importantly, you can rest assured that he/she will be better able to face the future, no matter the challenges.
Both mentoring and coaching support personal and professional growth. However, they differ in approach.
Mentoring is a process where an experienced person shares his/her knowledge and advice to help someone with less experience, usually in the same field. The mentee gains valuable insights and learnings from the mentor.
Coaching, on the other hand, unlocks the coachee's potential through self-discovery. Instead of giving advice, a coach guides the coachee by asking "powerful" questions. This boosts the coachee's self-awareness and empowers him/her to find his/her own solutions.
